How easy is it to manage 10 or more cameras if you need to change FPS, res. or motion parameters? I would venture to guess that you would need to seperately log into them individually to do this, that’s a nightmare for an end user? Wouldn’t it be better to have a central mgmt system and have it direct the streams to a centralized storage array? That way, video can be protected in a locked room, you can take advantage of industry standard storage, and globally manage the cams.

No separate log is not required for configuring or managing cameras or the video/storage. MOBOTIX cameras can be configured using the free client software MxControlCenter individually or in large batches, remotely or locally. With this decentralized system you are not locked into a central server topology, you can record to – SAN, NAS, PC/Server, or at the camera (SD, USB, Ethernet). All of this can be done without the need for a central NVR with licensed video management s/ware.
How do you set up an IP camera to record directly to a NAS on your local area network without any computer on your network being switched on?
